Rice is a key ingredient in so many of our favourite recipes. From a quick and easy stir-fry meal to a perfectly cooked risotto, there’s so many recipes you can cook with an ingredient as simple as rice. And rice is a favourite all over the world. You'll find rice in a lot of European cooking, but it's also a key ingredient in Mexican food, Asian food and many other cuisines.
There’s also so many rice varieties to choose from. Long-grain rice such as basmati or jasmine rice are aromatic in flavour and perfect for cooking with curries and stir-fries. For a paella, a traditional short grain rice such as Calasparra should be used. Arborio is another short grain variety, traditionally cooked in risotto recipes.
